Ragdoll cats are known for their blue eyes, pointed coats, large size, and distinctive combination of colors and markings. But describing a Ragdoll's appearance is more complicated than simply saying a cat is "seal" or "blue." A Ragdoll's appearance is determined by several elements working together: Base point color - such as seal, blue, chocolate, or lilac Pattern - colorpoint, mitted, or bicolor Lynx markings - tabby-like stripes on the points Tortie coloring - areas of red or cream mixed into the point color White markings - particularly important in mitted and bicolor Ragdolls The terminology can also vary between cat registries. CFA currently lists six principal Ragdoll point colors: seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, red, and cream. TICA's current breed description also lists cinnamon and fawn among its Ragdoll colors.
